A LOOK AT THE GIRL BEHIND THE LENS…

Hi, I’m Summer! I’m a follower of Jesus and wife to my best friend + high school sweetheart, Dylan (who you’ll definitely meet if you decide to book me; he’s my built in second shooter)! I’m a big fan of creating stuff that matters and leaving spaces better than I found them—probably with a vanilla oat milk latte in hand.

I grew up in Littleton, Colorado and moved to Grand Junction in 2019 to begin my degree at Colorado Mesa University. Originally, I was going to school to be a teacher. I soon cultivated a passion for creativity through serving in all things media at church. It seemed as though opportunities to tell stories in the digital realm were falling into my lap and I knew I was being called to switch gears and pursue a different trajectory than I had envisioned for myself. Three major changes later, and here I am as a graduate with my B.A. in Mass Communication. It wasn't my “plan A,” but God has been revealing to me more and more that this is right I’m supposed to be (and I’m loving every minute of it)!

When I’m not shooting or editing, you can probably find me exploring Utah with Dylan, buying another plant for our house, reading a good book, serving at church, listening to Taylor Swift, watching Modern Family, or getting another tattoo. I’m based in Grand Junction, but I’ll travel to wherever you are!

I’m a big feeler. I’m sensitive, cry easily, and get excited about mundane things in life. Whatever emotion I’m feeling, I feel it deeply. I’m quite sentimental and nostalgic (as evidenced by the closet full of handwritten notes and memorabilia I have stored). My heart is set on creating films that reflect that.

Your joy is my joy. Your tears are my tears. While you’re getting choked up exchanging your vows, there’s a good chance you can find me sniffling behind the camera right there with you. I pray that when you watch your wedding film, you get flooded with all of the emotions you experienced on the day you said “I do.” May it serve as a constant reminder of the love that exists between you and your spouse for generations to come.

On the day of your wedding, I try to melt into the background and capture things as they happen without much direction or posing (of course, stepping in and prompting you when needed). I make it a priority to work with and alongside your photographer. You’re not going to hear me ask you to fake putting on makeup or pretend to have your mom help you zip up your dress. I tend to focus on capturing real shots—as they actually happened, simply because my goal in creating wedding films isn’t to add something new and shiny to my portfolio or turn your wedding day into a production—it’s to capture your love authentically. I thrive within candid moments, and I’m okay with sacrificing perfection for authenticity.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, “Whatever you do, do well.” This is the heartbeat of my business. Excellence should be the standard, not an added cost. From your initial inquiry to long after your film is delivered, I commit to serving you like Jesus. My goal is to create a film that captures exactly what you were hoping for—putting in care, time, and effort to each and every project. Your wedding film is something that will outlive you; a relic that your kids, grandkids, and great grandkids will be able to look back on. I’m a videographer by craft, but a history buff and storyteller at heart. I get absolutely giddy about the thought of creating something that will help preserve your legacy.

  • Always. I bring a second videographer with me to every wedding. 99% of the time, this is my husband, Dylan, but if he’s not available I have a handful of other videographers I trust and love to get the job done as well.

  • It depends on the package you book! I have several different methods of capturing audio on your wedding day including personal mics, plugging into your DJ’s sound system, and more. Contact me for my full pricing guide that includes the details of each package.

  • When I say my backups have a backup, I mean it! All of my cameras have dual card slots, meaning they simultaneously record two copies of each clip.

For ceremony audio, I mic the couple as well as the officiant for the best audio quality possible. I also plug into the DJ’s speaker, as well as the soundboard.

As soon as I get home (or even on the car ride home, if I’m not driving) I back up everything captured on your wedding day to not one, not two, but three external hard drives!

Have you lost track of how many backups I have yet? ;) To be completely honest, it’s not really necessary to take that many precautions—but I do, because I recognize how precious your wedding day is. Those are memories you can never get back, and I don’t take the responsibility of capturing it lightly.

  • Yep! I offer drone as an add on to my packages. However, there are restrictions put in place by the FAA on some areas such as National Parks, towns close to airports, etc. Some cities also have banned drones. I make sure to research this before your big day so if we run into issues, we can get that figured out ahead of time!

  • You bet! I want to help make your wedding day goes as seamlessly as possible. If you need vendor recommendations, a list of my favorite elopement spots, or just some advice on your timeline, I got you!

  • I started my business at the beginning of 2022. Since then, it’s grown organically and quickly which has allowed me to shoot an abundance of weddings since I began—far more than I could have ever imagined possible (which I am beyond thankful for).

I’ve gotten years of training and hundreds of hands-on hours filming, editing, sound design, animation, and more through school projects. In 2023, I graduated with my B.A. in Mass Communication from Colorado Mesa University. I’ve taken several classes in video production, film, audio, + digital storytelling, giving me a unique perspective and guided training in the world of filmmaking (as most videographers are self taught)!

  • I do! I understand weddings can get expensive quickly. If you’re interested in learning more, let me know!
