Should I Hire a Videographer?

Oftentimes when couples decide to book a wedding videographer, they do so only because there was extra room in their budget for it. Which–I know–weddings are SO expensive. But I wholeheartedly believe that a wedding videographer is an investment worthwhile and should be one of the first vendors you book.

Here are 4 reasons why having a videographer at your wedding is invaluable:

Film captures words and emotions that photographs can’t.

If a picture speaks a thousand words then imagine what a film can do! A wedding film allows you to hear your wedding vows, the cracking of your voice as you take each other’s hands, the excitement,  sniffles and tears at your first look, and so much more. You’re able to relieve the toasts given by your parents and best friends. You might be thinking… “but I’ll never watch it!” A bride of mine recently posted on social media that they look back at their wedding video a few times a week.

A picture can freeze a moment, but a wedding video can capture the emotions that come with it. The heartfelt laughter and the tender embraces are all priceless moments that can be beautifully preserved in a wedding film. The power of movement and sound cannot be overstated.

Your wedding film will outlive you, and you’re creating a family heirloom.

Yes, your wedding video is for you. But even more so, it’s for your kids, grandkids, and generations to come. I get emotional thinking about my future grandchildren being able to watch our wedding unfold, hear our voices when we were young, and see us tear up the dance floor ;) How amazing is that! By hiring a videographer, memories of you, your parents, and grandparents will be passed down in a tangible way.

A wedding film helps include loved ones who weren’t able to make it.

There will be people who, for one reason or another, won’t be able to attend your wedding. Especially if you’re eloping, a wedding film helps friends and family experience your special day in a surreal way, even if they weren’t able to be there themselves.

Not hiring a wedding videographer is the number one regret amongst couples.

So many people after their wedding day wish so badly that they had invested in videography. When the flowers die, the food is eaten, and the decor is thrown away, the only thing you have left is your memories. A wedding film ensures that you never forget the day you said “I do.” A  wedding film will transport you back to your wedding day, enabling you to experience all the love, laughter, and tears of happiness over and over again. One of my brides wrote to me in an email, “I knew our wedding video would mean a lot to me but I didn’t know it would be my absolute favorite memory of the day.” You will never regret hiring a videographer, but there’s a high chance you’ll wish you did it if you decide not to.

Did I convince you? ;) If so, I’d love to capture your wedding day on film. Fill out my contact form to get in touch!
